Well, I know what I’m doing this evening. Samurai + Power + Roadkill sounds like a recipe for entertainment to me.

Same. Their site is garbage, the content that was on YT was good stuff tho.

I tend to watch the -Garage version of MT shows and Engine Masters for their more wrenching centered content but I still find myself inadvertently catching up with Roadkill all in one sitting once I start. I’m sure I’ll be firing this up shortly.

They are a work in progress. It’s been fun to watch them evolve. I’m happy to support the effort.

I pay for enough services. I hate when every little place starts wanting to have their own hosting with hosting fees.. enough is enough.

I agree. I love how that $6 also gets me access to WEC and Aussie Supercars races as well.

I pay for Netflix. And internet. It used to be on Netflix. Put it back on Netflix, and therefore I’ll be paying for it.

And they’ll reach a HUGE audience more than just the ones navigating to MTOD who are already into cars....

Or Amazon Prime. Damn you Grand Tour.

My favorite is RK Garage. I also watch Hot Rod Garage and I’ve been sort of enjoying Junk Yard Gold. Roadkill has been disappointing lately, but they clearly put a lot of effort into this episode. My favorite personality is Steve Dulcich and one of these days, I hope to get a photo with him.

It’s been fun to watch the franchise evolve. In particular, the relationship between Tony Angelo and Lucky Costa. It was downright awkward early on, but they’re sorting it.

Engine Masters doesn’t grab me as much, though I don’t mind watching it. Too far outside my wheelhouse.

I was watching the drag racing show initially, but it started getting on my nerves and I lost interest.

A man’s gotta know his limitations. And his priorities... I’m 54 and I can see MTOD appealing to an older crowd, particularly the Roadkill and Hot Rod Garage bits, which are the anchor shows.

They are greatly expanding their content offerings on MTOD. (Some of them are egregiously lame, shallow and or stupid, like the idiots in Louisiana...)

I’ll consider paying for it, when I can punch it up on my big TV and relax on the couch. I could do that with YouTube, or when it was on Netflix. I don’t want to watch it on my phone or my computer.

Junk Yard Gold is also one of my favorites. I’ve liked Steve Magnante’s stuff, both in print and on tv, for a long time. I agree with Dulcich being the best personality. I don’t know if he could carry a show by himself but I like that more subdued personality. He’d be the one I could do a roadtrip with and not go crazy.

I use to watch all their content before they moved off youtube. I enjoyed it. But it’s not worth a monthly fee, too me. I pay for netflix, hulu (no ads), amazon prime and spotify. plus my internet cost. Been cable free for years and happy, but it’s starting to get to the point with all these services wanting their own hosting it’s just making me torrent more again.

I hope I didn’t sound overly snarky. The sponsorship and other considerations for MTOD are complex. I’d never considered them getting picked up by Netflix, but wouldn’t that be nice?

For my part, I’m happy to support them. I am carefully studying what monthly information fees I am willing to pay, including news services. Adds up.

I generally dislike Amazon Prime Video. If I can’t find something to watch on Netflix, then I can find something else to do.

Torrent: never. I have Internet, Netflix, MTOD, New York Times and Wall Street Journal. (Those last two, I cheat, and use my daughter’s college student status because on the cheap.) I read Politico every day and may drop NYT/WSJ. All those companies collecting all those monthly fees, Comcast has to be hurting. But we know they are. We get Amazon Prime also, but seldom for the entertainment value. I dislike Amazon Video. I can’t see paying for Spotify or Pandora.

I am not a fan of Dulcich. I can tolerate but I like Finnegan and Tony the most. This might also be because of my age though being 32. I also pay for MTOD. I need it!

Yeah I hope comcast, spectrum and the rest of the cable companies just die off. I get fiber through a small independent company so I don’t even use them for internet. I consume more music than video media, my spotify stats for 2017 shows I played 135k minutes of music, haha so it’s worth it to me.

I found Tony Angelo the most annoying at first. I think he may be the youngest of the lot. Like he had something to prove. Maybe they give him a bunch of crap behind the scenes. But he’s finding his own. He’s getting along better now with Lucky Costa.

Nah its cool, MTOD is just a hot topic.

I don’t mind paying for Prime because you get the shipping, video, and music rolled into one.

I just wish the ‘little guys’ out there would stop trying to buck the system and just buddy up with the bigger players. It seems to make sense to me, but what do I know. I’m just a viewer with a limited budget.

From some of Freiburger’s comments, I think MTOD may never hook up with a big guy. It seems like they’re joined at the hip with Facebook, which leaves me out of the loop because I don’t look at my FB much.

thier stupid roku app makes me want to punch myself. I have to use a chrome roku cast extension yo use the website version to cast it to my roku so I can watch it on my tv. WHat is wrong with the world where videos are availible on a website that aren’t availible on its app?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

I just have an HDMI cable connected to the Windows laptop. I wouldn’t have high expectations for a Chromebook... I’m told that the video output from a decent laptop is much better than many of the other devices out there. The lappy I’m using is 1080p, but my tube is only 720p, which is plenty for my desires. 52-inch plasma with hospital-grade wall mount, little used: $150 on Craigslist. Let the suckas have their 4k tellies and sell me their old screens for pennies on the dollar...

I’m just at a point where I really am not interested in purchasing any more devices for a while. There are things I no longer can watch, that I miss, but I’m never without something to watch. If they’d do a MT on demand Amazon Fire app, then I’m back in.

Tony and Lucky would be the only program I’d be willing to pay to watch. I really liked Engine Masters, more for the knowledge and “proof” than anything, but I don’t think I’d pay to primarily watch dyno results.
